The Foundry Introduces Groundbreaking New Product: HIERO
Debuting at IBC, HIERO is set to be NUKE’S timeline

Amsterdam, 9 September 2011 – Today leading visual effects software developer The Foundry (www.thefoundry.co.uk) announced it would preview its latest groundbreaking product HIERO at IBC.

Available this year, HIERO is a desktop application for collaborative VFX workflow. It provides a scriptable timeline tool for NUKE that conforms edit decision lists and parcels out VFX work to NUKE artists. Close NUKE integration allows shot progress to be viewed in the context of the edit, and will in turn free up finishing systems to concentrate on their real strength – finishing.

HIERO also significantly reduces the infrastructure work required to keep a VFX team up and running with pain free shot distribution and management.

Senior Product Designer, Matt Plec said, “NUKE is already a powerful compositing tool, but it’s missing a component many artists need. HIERO provides the missing link functionality currently dealt with either by expensive tools, in-house scripting or a cumbersome manual process. HIERO’s the bridge tool our customers have been asking for.”

Bill Collis, Chief Executive Officer, comments, ” his release is the first step on a very exciting first-year roadmap for HIERO. As you would expect, we’re working very closely with our customers – the evolution of HIERO is a highly collaborative process.”

Tony Lawrence, Head of 2D, Smoke and Mirrors, “We love that The Foundry are developing a product as sophisticated as HIERO. The flexibility, ease of use and integration into our pipeline will increase our output, allowing even more jobs to pass through our facility. The Foundry has yet again come up with a solution that will benefit the post production community.”

HIERO and the rest of The Foundry’s innovative products will be on exhibit during IBC at the Amsterdam RAI, Hall 7 Booth B21.

HIERO is slated for release in November 2011 will be available on OSX and Linux, with Windows to follow
